Road Lighting 2014: Innovation, Efficiency, Safety won recognition at the 40th annual Public Relations Institute of New Zealand (PRINZ) Awards held in Auckland, New Zealand, in May.
An award for Special Event or Project was presented to a director of conference organiser Strategic Lighting Partners, Crystal Beavis, at the Institute’s annual conference and Awards Gala Dinner in Auckland on 29 May.
PRINZ awards recognise excellence in New Zealand’s public relations and communications industry, and promote continuous improvement and celebrate best practice. This year’s awards attracted 57 entries from around the country, with nine winners in eight categories plus an overall supreme award.
“It’s a great boost to win external recognition for the inaugural Australasian conference for road lighting authorities and professionals and is a reflection of the value that this conference represents for the industry,” says Crystal.
“The conference was aimed at informing industry stakeholders about the safety, efficiency and cost benefits of LED road lighting as well as providing a valuable networking opportunity and exhibition. A post-conference survey drew responses from more than half the conference attendees who overwhelmingly rated it as ‘excellent’ and an event they would attend again.”
The PRINZ awards are judged on a number of criteria including research, audience, messages, objectives, strategy, implementation, results and ‘wow’ factor.
